With many thanks to my husband Kelly and our web designer Ross, we just launched my new website at www.ArtWork.co! Yes, it is dot CO as in colorful Colorado – my inspiration for so many of my pieces.
It has been a busy summer with two major events here in the Denver area. First was my Vanishing Bees series that was shown from June through September at Outnumbered Gallery, a wonderful venue in downtown Littleton. Secondly, I was accepted to participate in the 5th Annual Cheesman Park Art Fest in Denver, which I have participated in annually since inception. Both events allowed me to meet fellow artists and so many art enthusiasts and continue my journey on sending a message to preserve nature.
It is so wonderful to enter my studio open minded as to what I will be working on for the day. My latest project was focusing on one of my favorite birds, Hummingbirds. These little creatures are so amazing and I’m fortunate enough to have a couple of them return each summer for my viewing pleasure. Sad to say they have now flown south as our weather turns to Fall, but I will have many of these painted friends hanging around in my studio.
I continue to go back and forth between watercolors and acrylics. I had a couple of canvases screaming for re-dos. I applied alcohol inks to one of them and applied some amazing layers of gesso on another. More to come on these projects and thanks for checking out my site! Keep calm and keep creating.
